The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) is the country’s national tourism organization, established under the Tourism Act of 1996. Operating under the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, it is responsible for developing, managing, promoting, and marketing Zimbabwe as a tourist destination. The Authority also oversees planning, research, standards, and service delivery, ensuring coordinated growth across the sector.
ZTA promotes Zimbabwe in local, regional, and international markets while supporting tourism development and investment. Its work includes market research, data collection, destination management, and the registration and grading of tourism facilities. Guided by a mission to support sustainable growth for social and economic benefit, ZTA aims to position Zimbabwe as a must-visit destination and a leader in sustainable travel in Africa by 2030. Headquartered in Harare, it showcases the country’s wildlife, cultural, rural, business, sports, and festivals offerings through targeted campaigns and industry support initiatives.
