ABOUT
Visit Greenland, established in 1992, is the national tourist board and government agency promoting tourism in Greenland. It focuses on positioning the country as an adventure destination through development, branding, innovation, and marketing.
The organization promotes sustainable tourism by collaborating with regional boards, tour operators, and stakeholders. It coordinates marketing efforts through its Nuuk office, which handles facilitation, and its Copenhagen office, which focuses on marketing activities. Additionally, it provides updated photo databases for tourism marketing and organizes familiarization trips for travel professionals.
Greenland offers outdoor adventures, cultural experiences, hunting, fishing, coastal sailing, and cruises, all showcasing the country’s Arctic landscape and Inuit culture. Popular activities include sailing tours among icebergs, dog sledding, ice cap treks, wildlife spotting (such as whale watching), and hiking to Norse ruins. Adventure tourism is growing, with opportunities for kayaking, heli-skiing, and long-distance skiing expeditions on the ice cap.
