ABOUT
The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) positions Uganda as the Pearl of Africa and a premier safari destination, showcasing its natural beauty, abundant wildlife, and unique experiences like gorilla trekking. It also highlights the country’s rich cultural heritage, promoting tourism that benefits both people and nature through conservation and community development.
UTB’s mission is to increase tourism’s contribution to economic growth and development. To achieve this, it markets Uganda locally and internationally, promotes key destinations, and develops compelling tourism products. The Board coordinates stakeholders, attracts investment, and supports education, training, and research to strengthen the sector.
UTB also serves as a regulator, handling licensing, quality control, and compliance to ensure services meet global standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. It helps the private sector improve performance by providing training and market intelligence, enabling businesses to deliver high-quality visitor experiences.
