Founded in 1930, the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) was created to support the growth of tourism across the country. Today, it serves as the national private‑sector advocate for a $130‑billion industry. Based in Ottawa, TIAC represents industry interests at the federal level and takes action on behalf of Canadian tourism businesses by advancing policies, programs, and initiatives that strengthen the sector and support long‑term growth.
TIAC brings together partners from every part of the tourism industry, including provincial, territorial, and regional tourism associations. This broad membership allows the association to address the full range of issues affecting tourism in Canada. Guided by a vision to make Canada the most competitive travel destination in the world, TIAC’s mission is to be the unified voice of the industry and to improve Canada’s global competitiveness through leadership and advocacy.
