Singita is a luxury ecotourism and conservation brand that operates some of Africa’s most exclusive safari lodges and private reserves across South Africa, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, and Botswana. The name comes from a Tsonga and Shangaan word meaning “place of miracles,” reflecting a long‑standing commitment to protecting wilderness at scale. The company’s origins trace back to 1925, when land in what is now South Africa’s Sabi Sand was acquired and later transformed from a hunting area into a protected reserve. Singita opened its first lodge, Ebony Lodge, in 1993, and has since grown to nearly 20 lodges, camps, and private-use villas located in some of the continent’s most wildlife‑rich regions, including the Serengeti, the Grumeti Reserve, Malilangwe, and the foothills of Volcanoes National Park.
Singita’s purpose is guided by a 100‑year vision focused on conservation through three interconnected pillars: biodiversity, sustainability, and community. Its lodges are known for very low guest density, exceptional guiding, refined design, and deeply personalized service, alongside fine dining, notable wine collections, and wellness offerings. Experiences range from front‑row access to the Great Migration in Tanzania to gorilla trekking and forest conservation in Rwanda. Through partnerships with conservation trusts and local communities, Singita aims to create enduring protection for large landscapes while offering one of the world’s most acclaimed safari experiences.
