ABOUT
The Sierra Leone National Tourist Board (NTB) is the official government body responsible for developing, promoting, and regulating tourism in Sierra Leone. Established by an Act of Parliament in 1990 and operational since 1991, the NTB serves as the professional arm of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs.
The NTB’s main goal is to boost Sierra Leone’s tourism opportunities, focusing on sustainable and responsible tourism that supports socio-economic growth. It promotes Sierra Leone both locally and internationally as an attractive tourist destination, highlighting the country’s beaches, wildlife, history, and culture. NTB monitors, registers, licenses, and classifies all tourist establishments to ensure quality services that meet ECOWAS standards. It identifies, develops, and promotes key tourism products such as eco-tourism, leisure, domestic tourism, beaches, recreation parks, and activity-based experiences like birdwatching, diving, and cultural tourism.
