ABOUT

Royal Caribbean International is one of the world’s largest cruise lines and a core brand of Royal Caribbean Group, headquartered in Miami, Florida. Founded in 1968 by three Norwegian shipping companies, the line entered service in 1970 with its first ship, Song of Norway. Today, it is the largest cruise line by revenue and the second largest by passenger count, operating close to 30 ships as of 2025, with additional vessels on order. Since becoming part of Royal Caribbean Group in 1997, the brand has driven industry growth through major ship designs such as the Voyager, Oasis, and Icon classes, setting new standards for ship size and onboard variety.

Positioned as a contemporary, family‑friendly cruise line, Royal Caribbean is known for large, activity‑packed ships and a high‑energy vacation style. Its fleet sails to more than 240 destinations across over 60 countries on six continents, including private destinations such as Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas and Labadee in Haiti. Onboard experiences include water parks, surf simulators, zip lines, rock‑climbing walls, ice rinks, Broadway‑style entertainment, and extensive dining options ranging from casual venues to specialty restaurants. Together with sister brands Celebrity Cruises and Silversea, and joint ventures including TUI Cruises and Hapag‑Lloyd Cruises, Royal Caribbean Group operates roughly 60 to 70 ships worldwide, serving a broad range of travelers and travel styles.
