Rovos Rail, based in Pretoria, South Africa, has offered luxury train journeys since 1989. The company is known for its beautifully restored vintage coaches, featuring elegant wood paneling, comfortable lounges, dining cars, and private sleeping compartments with ensuite bathrooms. Accommodation ranges from cozy Pullman suites to the spacious Royal Suite, which even includes a Victorian-style bathtub.

Founded by Rohan Vos, Rovos Rail has expanded from a modest operation to a fleet serving multiple routes across Southern Africa. The train connects cities like Cape Town, Pretoria, Victoria Falls, and Dar es Salaam, with journeys lasting from two to fifteen nights and covering up to 5,500 km. Each trip blends luxury travel with breathtaking African scenery.

This luxury train is renowned for its emphasis on comfort, exquisite dining, and attentive service. To maintain a nostalgic ambiance, the use of mobile phones and laptops is not permitted in public areas aboard the train.
