The Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT) conducts research and collects data on tourism market trends to inform policy and program development. It coordinates the implementation of plans, policies, and multilateral and bilateral agreements with National Tourism Organizations and international associations, and it supervises international tourism promotion efforts within its jurisdictions.

PDOT operates 23 overseas offices worldwide to promote the Philippines as a travel destination. These offices design and implement targeted programs and activities; three of them are based in North America, located in Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco.
