ABOUT
ITA Airways, officially named Italia Trasporto Aereo S.p.A., is the flag carrier airline of Italy. It is owned by the Italian government through the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The airline was established in November 2020 as the successor to the bankrupt Alitalia. The airline aims to enhance connectivity both within Italy and internationally.
ITA Airways operates a fleet consisting entirely of Airbus aircraft. The airline's operational strategy is centered around its main hub at Rome Fiumicino Airport and at Milan Linate Airport. In May 2023, Lufthansa acquired a 41% stake in the airline, with intentions to fully integrate it into its network within two years.
