IndiGo (6E) is India’s largest airline by passengers carried and fleet size. Founded in 2005 and launched on 4 August 2006, it is operated by InterGlobe Aviation Ltd, part of InterGlobe Enterprises, and is headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana. It is a low-cost carrier built around affordable fares, reliable service, and on-time performance. It operates more than 2,200 daily flights and carries over 118 million passengers annually, holding about 64% of India’s domestic passenger market. Its network spans more than 130 destinations, connecting over 90 cities in India with international locations across South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

IndiGo operates one of the world’s youngest and most standardized fleets, with over 400 aircraft. The fleet is centered on Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft, supported by ATR 72 turboprops for regional routes and a limited number of leased widebody aircraft for select long-haul services. Its primary hub is Delhi, with major operating bases in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, and Kochi. The airline primarily offers a single-class economy experience, with fare options including Saver, Flexi, and UpFront, alongside IndiGoStretch and Stretch+ premium seating on selected A321neo routes. Passengers can add services such as baggage, meals, and seat selection, while BluChip provides a points-based loyalty programme.
