IAGTO, the Global Golf Tourism Organisation, was established in 1997. Its membership includes 2370 accredited golf tour operators, resorts, hotels, courses, receptive operators, airlines, tourist boards, media, and business partners across 92 countries. Within this, there are 682 specialist golf tour operators in 68 countries. Their member operators manage over 90% of golf holiday packages sold globally and generate more than €2.5 billion in annual turnover.

They organize three annual conventions worldwide. These include the North America Golf Tourism Convention (NAC), the Asia Golf Tourism Convention (AGTC), and the European Convention (IEC). Each convention brings together buyers and suppliers to meet and discuss business at a regional level.
