The Embassy of Italy in Canada represents Italy and its citizens. Its main roles are to protect Italy’s interests and those of its citizens within the limits of international law and to represent Italy in Canada. The Embassy also negotiates with the Canadian government, gathers information legally about conditions and events in Canada, and works to strengthen friendly ties while fostering economic, cultural, and scientific relations.
Additionally, the Embassy includes a Consular Office and coordinates a network of three Consulates General in Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver. It also oversees two Italian Cultural Institutes in Montreal and Toronto, as well as the Italian Trade Commission in Montreal and Toronto, and the Italian National Tourist Board in Toronto.
