About Central America

Central America, a natural bridge connecting North and South America, consists of 7 countries: Belize, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Panama. The Dominican Republic has joined as an ally to boost tourism, offering a mix of attractions for international travelers.

This region emerged millions of years ago and is now a tropical sanctuary between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. It hosts 12% of the world's biodiversity, is a top bird-watching area in the western hemisphere, and is part of the second-largest coral reef.

With deep historical roots, Central America is home to 65 indigenous groups covering nearly 40% of its land and marine areas, preserving over 60% of its ecosystems.
