Cairo International Airport (CAI) is the biggest and busiest airport in Egypt. It is the main international gateway. The airport is situated in Heliopolis, around 15 kilometers northeast of downtown Cairo. It covers an area of about 37 square kilometers and has three parallel runways that can handle large aircraft, like the Airbus A380.
