British Airways (BA), the UK's flag carrier, is based in London and mainly operates from Heathrow Airport. Founded in 1974 from the merger of BOAC and BEA, BA is now part of the International Airlines Group (IAG). It has a fleet of over 280 aircraft and serves more than 200 destinations across 80 countries, employing around 35,000 staff, including 15,000 cabin crew and 3,600 pilots.
