ABOUT
Aran Island Ferries is Ireland’s longest year-round operator serving Inis Mór, Inis Meáin, and Inis Oírr. It is owned by the O’Brien family, whose ties to the islands date back to turf trading in the early 1900s. The company runs modern vessels with comfortable seating, onboard bars, and refreshments, and is certified by Fáilte Ireland and fully licensed by the Irish Department of Transport.
Most sailings depart from the Rossaveel Ferry Terminal in Connemara, County Galway, with daily services to all three islands throughout the year. Crossings take 40–55 minutes and offer scenic views across Galway Bay and the Atlantic.
The fleet comprises five vessels with capacities of up to 400 passengers: Saoirse na Farraige (Freedom of the Sea, 394 passengers), Ceol na Farraige (Music of the Sea, 294 passengers), Draíocht na Farraige (Magic of the Sea, 294 passengers), Glór na Farraige (Voice of the Sea, 244 passengers), and Banríon na Farraige (Queen of the Sea, 188 passengers), delivering a comfortable and reliable travel experience.
