AmaWaterways is a luxury river cruise company founded in 2002 by three travel experts: Rudi Schreiner, Kristin Karst, and Jimmy Murphy. Based in Calabasas, California, the company offers river cruises across multiple continents, including Europe, Africa, and Asia.

The company has 29 custom-designed ships. These vessels sail on major rivers in Europe, including the Danube, Douro, Rhine, Moselle, Main, Rhône, Saône, Seine, Garonne, and Dordogne. They also navigate the Dutch and Belgian Waterways. In addition, AmaWaterways operates cruises on Southeast Asia's Mekong River, Africa's Chobe River, Egypt's Nile River, and Colombia's Magdalena River.

The company offers a wide variety of included shore excursions at each port, graded by activity level to suit different guests. It was the first river cruise line to provide bicycles on board its European fleet, allowing guests to explore destinations actively. Special interest tours, wine-themed cruises, and partnerships—such as Disney-themed cruises with Adventures by Disney—cater to diverse interests and families with children. Onboard activities include lectures, cooking demonstrations, and regional performances.
