ABOUT
Aerolíneas Argentinas (AR), founded in 1950 from the merger of several smaller airlines, is Argentina’s state-owned flag carrier and largest airline. Headquartered in Buenos Aires, it operates from two main hubs: Aeroparque Jorge Newbery and Ministro Pistarini International Airport. The airline serves over 60 destinations in Argentina and internationally, with a fleet that includes Embraer E190s, Boeing 737s, and Airbus A330-200s.
Privatized in 1990 and re-nationalized in 2008, the company has since modernized its fleet, expanded its network, and improved its services. Recognized in 2018 for excellence in onboard service and punctuality, it is the only South American member of the SkyTeam alliance, with its cargo division joining SkyTeam Cargo in 2013.
