ABOUT

AEGEAN Airlines (A3) is the flag carrier of Greece and the country’s largest airline by passengers, destinations, and fleet size. Headquartered in Greece, it operates as a full‑service carrier offering short‑ and medium‑haul scheduled and charter flights across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. The airline’s primary hub is Athens International Airport, with additional bases in Thessaloniki and Heraklion.

A member of Star Alliance since 2010, AEGEAN provides strong connectivity to major European cities and key leisure markets. Its network covers more than 160 destinations in over 40 countries, including an extensive domestic network linking mainland cities and Greek islands, operated in cooperation with its subsidiary, Olympic Air. The airline continues to expand its network, adding new European routes and planning services to South Asia from 2026.

AEGEAN operates a modern, all‑Airbus fleet of around 70 aircraft, primarily from the A320 and A321 families, including next‑generation neo models that support fuel efficiency and passenger comfort. Services include economy and business class, with in‑flight meals and full‑service amenities on most routes.

The airline traces its origins to Aegean Aviation, founded in 1987, and began scheduled passenger operations under the AEGEAN Airlines brand in 1999.
