The Syrian Ministry of Tourism is the government body responsible for developing, regulating, and promoting tourism across Syria. Established in 1972 and based in Damascus, it supports domestic and international travel, encourages investment, oversees tourism services, and provides training for hospitality and tourism professionals.
The ministry works to market Syria’s destinations, develop tourist areas and facilities, and improve services for visitors. It also views tourism as an important contributor to local development and economic recovery, with priorities that include partnerships with local communities and the expansion of cultural, health, environmental, and conferences. Recent initiatives include the relaunch of “Labaeik,” a centralized visitor support and complaint management platform for tourist inquiries, feedback, and service issues, available by hotline, WhatsApp, email, and in person.
