MEJDI Tours

ABOUT

MEJDI Tours is a full-service travel company that designs socially conscious journeys across multiple continents. Founded in 2009, the company was created to challenge conventional tourism and replace it with a model rooted in respect, understanding, and local benefit. The name MEJDI means honor and respect in Arabic. The company was co-founded by peacebuilders Aziz Abu Sarah, a TED Fellow and National Geographic Explorer, and Scott Cooper.

Since 2013, MEJDI Tours has been a Certified B Corporation, reflecting its commitment to social and environmental responsibility. Its signature approach is the dual narrative model, which pairs two local guides who represent different perspectives within a destination. First developed in Israel and Palestine, this model is now used across all MEJDI programs to encourage dialogue, critical thinking, and deeper cultural understanding. The company offers private and customized tours for universities, faith groups, nonprofits, and small groups, along with select guaranteed departures.

MEJDI operates in more than 40 destinations across five continents, including the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, and Central Asia. Programs emphasize community-based experiences, exclusive access, and meaningful engagement rather than mass tourism. Through partnerships such as National Geographic Expeditions and collaborations with institutions like Boston University and World Vision, MEJDI seeks to turn travel into a force for positive social impact and global connection.
