Scandic Hotels Group is the largest hotel operator in the Nordic region, with about 280 hotels and 58,000 rooms in operation and under development across six countries. Founded in 1963 as Esso Motor Hotels and rebranded in 1984, the company is headquartered in Stockholm and has been listed on Nasdaq Stockholm since December 2, 2015. It is known for Scandic Friends, the biggest loyalty program in the Nordic hotel sector, and for a strong commitment to corporate responsibility that has long guided its business.

Scandic runs a diversified portfolio across Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Germany, and Poland. Most properties are certified by the Nordic Swan Eco-label.
