ABOUT

The Embassy of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Washington, D.C. represents the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the United States of America. Its mission is to advance and strengthen the strategic partnership between the Democratic Republic of Congo and the United States, while safeguarding the interests of Congolese citizens living or traveling in the U.S.

The Democratic Republic of Congo is a nation endowed with abundant natural resources and rich cultural diversity. The country has made significant progress in promoting democratic values and is emerging as a promising market economy with substantial potential for Foreign Direct Investment, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, energy, infrastructure, and tourism.

Through this diplomatic mission, the Embassy is committed to fostering robust bilateral relations, facilitating trade and investment, promoting development cooperation, and engaging the Congolese diaspora. These efforts support the sustainable development and prosperity of the DRC and its approximately 86 million people.

In addition, the Embassy provides essential consular services to Congolese nationals residing or visiting the United States, as well as to American citizens interested in travel, business, or partnerships with the Democratic Republic of Congo.
