The Africa Tourism Association (ATA) is the leading global trade group promoting travel and tourism to Africa while strengthening partnerships within the continent. Serving both public and private sectors, ATA’s members include African governments, tourism ministers, bureaus and boards, airlines, cruise lines, hotels and resorts, tour operators, travel agents, front-line sellers, and related industries. Through its annual events, ATA brings industry leaders together to shape Africa’s tourism agenda.
The organization advocates for Africa as a global travel destination by showcasing the continent’s diverse travel products and services, marketing and promoting Destination Africa, and organizing industry business-to-business programs in Africa and the USA. It works to strengthen coordination among tourism ministers and industry leaders, offers continuing education and professional development opportunities, and increases business through exposure, networking, and referrals. By bringing public and private stakeholders together to address issues of common interest, cooperating with organizations focused on tourism and Africa, and conducting research with partner organizations, it supports sustainable growth and collaboration across the tourism sector.
