ABOUT

The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) is responsible for securing the air transportation system, including passenger and baggage screening, as well as screening airport workers. CATSA was established in 2002, funded by parliamentary appropriations, and accountable to Parliament through the Minister of Transport. CATSA's main objective is to protect the public by efficiently and effectively screening air travellers and their baggage, meeting or surpassing Transport Canada's security standards.
