ABOUT

Qantas Airways (QF) is Australia’s national flag carrier and the country’s largest airline. Founded in November 1920 in Winton, Queensland, it is among the oldest airlines still operating in the world. The name Qantas comes from “Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services,” reflecting its early mission to connect remote parts of northern Australia. Headquartered in Mascot, adjacent to Sydney Airport, Qantas has grown into the largest airline in Oceania by fleet size, international capacity, and number of destinations. It is a founding member of the Oneworld alliance, providing global connectivity through partners such as American Airlines and British Airways, and operates an extensive domestic network alongside international services across Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Africa, and New Zealand.

Known as “The Flying Kangaroo” and guided by the slogan “Spirit of Australia,” Qantas operates a diversified aviation group that includes Jetstar, QantasLink, Qantas Freight, and Qantas Loyalty.
